Karthi is clear about his priorities. He wants to do mass films and the story should be big and loaded with fantasy. After the likes of Siruthai, Saguni now comes Alex Pandian.
Directed by Suraaj, who made films like Padikathavan, Marudhamalai and Mapillai, the movie has enough thrills, suspense, drama and glamour but all in a total mismatch.
Unfortunately a crass comedy and needless punch lines mars the show.
Besides Karthi, the movie stars Anushka, Santhanam and a host of villains including Suman and Milind Soman play key roles in the film.

A history-sheeter (Karthi) kidnaps the Chief Minister's (Visu) daughter (Anushka). But soon Karthi falls for the girl.
He comes to know that there is a group with some sinister plans and ready to execute them. How Karthi emerges from tight situation and succeed in his mission is the climax.
Karthi has given a neat performance. He is expressive and good at stunts too. But the weak story and poor characterization lets him down.
Anushka is bubbly and has limited scope.
Santhanam hogs all limelight. His one-liners need to be watched out.
