Comedy capers rule Kollywood now. Joining the likes of OKOK and Kalakalappu, now comes Manam Koththi Paravai by Ezhil.
The filmmaker, who made films like Thullatha Manamum Thullum and Poovelam Un Vasam, in the past makes a comeback with Manam Koththi Paravai.
VJ-turned-actor Siva Karthikeyan plays the lead role. The movie is all about romance laced with comedy. Music is scored by D Imman while cinematography is by Suraj Nallusamy.
Besides Siva Karthikeyan, the movie has Athmiya,. Parotta Suri, Singam Puli, Ilavarasu, Ravi Mariya, Srinath, Chaams among others. Kannan (Siva Karthikeyan) is a adorable simple youth who loves his neighbour Revathy (Athmiya). Her family is powerful and influential in the village. Kannan's father (Ilavarasu) is a simple building contractor.
Kannan's friends (Parotta Suri, Singam Puli and Deiva Thirumagan Kishore) plan to get him united with Revathy. But her wedding gets fixed with by the family and Kannan's heart breaks.
His friends with the help of a coupe of others from Mumbai(Sreenath and Chaams) kidnaps Revathy. Trouble begins here. The chase and search by Revathy's family begins.
Siva Karthikeyan is well-suited for the role. He does a neat job and pulls it off well. Athmiya is pretty and walks away with honours.
Singam Puli, Parotta Suri. Srinath, Ravi Mariya play their part well.
Imman's songs and background score are good and so is Suraj Nallusamy's camera work.
More in the shades of Kalavani, Manam Koththi Paravai is enjoyable and can be watched with family.
