Hitherto known as a rural youth playing innocent roles as he did in Kalavani and Eththan, actor Vimal now takes up the city-slicker in Ishtam. After the successful Uthamaputhiran and Osthi, Balaji Real Media has produced the film featuring Nisha Agarwal as female lead opposite to Vimal.
The others in the cast are Santhanam, Charlie, Uvarani, Pragathi, Parvathi Nipan, Uma Padmanaban and Namo Narayanan. The movie show what an IT professional's life is like. For the first time, Vimal has changed his hairstyle and costume in order to look like a present-day youth. Sekar V Joseph of Chandramukhi fame has handled the camera. Thaman S has scored the music while P Sai Suresh is the editor.
The movie penned by Sampath Nandi and Prem Nizar has made some changes in the script. (Vimal) is a city slicker and Sandhya (Nisha) and he gets separated. They decide to go on their own way. Nisha meets her man and so is Saravanan. But when they decide to settle down, things go awry in their lives. Vimal has given his best try. He relishes his outing in a challenging character.
His performance deserve a special mention. So is Nisha Agarwal. She does chip in well. Santhanam's comedy is sure to entertain all especially his one-liners. Anoops and Pragathy deserve special mention. Thaman's music is another highlight. The youthful songs are foot-tapping and so is Sekar Jospeh's camera.
The movie is more an emotional fare. It may have its drawbacks, but Vimal compensates with a good show.
