What is romance according to today's youngsters? How gizmo's have influenced them and leading them to notorious acts? How greedy the cops are today? These are the questions that director Balaji Sakthivel has raised through the film Vazhakku En 18/9.
His Kallori and Kadhal were close to reality. SO is Vazhakku En 18/9.
The issue of obscene MMS scandal forms the crux.
The movie stars newbies Sri, Urmila Mahanta, Manisha Yadava and Mithun Murali in the lead roles. Velu (Sri) is an orphan, who works in a roadside shop. He falls in love with one Jothi (Urmila Mahantha), a servant maid in nearby apartment. Its romance for him. He falls for her. There lives in the apartment, lives Aarthy (Manisha Yadav), a student and Dinesh (Mithun Murali). The former falls for the latter who has other plans. Dinesh shoots clips of her on his mobile phone. Coming to know his act, Aarthy threatens him. Trouble erupts. Crime occurs. Cops enter.
Cinematography by Vijay Milton and guitarist Prasanna's background score adds strength to the script.
