Romance is the buzzword in Tamil cinema. Ever since Devadas till Vinnai Thaandi varuvaya, love stories never failed to enthrall audience. Choreographer - director Prabhudeva has opted to lay his hands at a love theme in Engeyum Kadhal and comes out convincingly.
Jayam Ravi, one of the bubbling young actors, plays the lead with the hot-happening Hanshika Motwani as his lady love. Besides the movie has a huge star cast that includes veteran Suman and Raju Sundaram among others.
Kamal (Jayam Ravi), without knowing the dangers involved, sets off for a vacation to Paris. A busy entreprenuer, he wants to be at peace and goes leaving behind his mobile phones too. All is well as he spends time with his friends that includes Raju Sundaram.
Meanwhile coming to know that life of Kamal is under threat, one Kayal (Hanshika Motwani), daughter of a detective (Suman) decides to save him. She eventually falls for him and it's love between them. What happens from here on has been narrated in an interesting manner by Prabhudeva.
Jayam Ravi as Kamal is apt for the role. He excels in dance and romantic sequences. Equally impressive is Hanshika Motwani. Suman is strong and solid, while Raju SUndaram tickles our funny bone fairly well.
Three cheers to Harris Jayaraj, who has given his best. The songs are catchy and deserves applause.
But for some logical lacunae, Engeyum Kadhal is a breezy romantic entertainer that strike you straight away.
