What begins as a fun-filled entertainer, slowly loses steam to end up as a normal outing in Poda Podi for debutant director Vignesh Sivan.
The movie stars STR, Varalakshmi (daughter of sarath Kumar), VTV Ganesh and veteran actress Shobana in key roles. Though it is an STR film it is no nonsense action stuff. The movie is ore an emotional drama and is a naach-gaana stuff.
The movie is set in London. The movie stands tall thanks to peppy music by Dharan and the tracks Poda Podi, Love Pannalama rock. Duncan Delford captures London well, while Anthony's editing is crisp.
Arjun (STR), is a cool youth who live in his uncle (VTV Ganesh's) house. He meets Nisha (Varu Sarathkumar), a salsa dancer. They meet each other and fall in love. Misunderstanding develop.
Nisha wants to make it big in Salsa, but Arjun has different plans. Did they see eye-to-eye? What happened finally forms the crux.
STR hogs all limelight but it is no regular stuff. His screen presence is the saving grace. Varu does her best, considering this to be her maiden venture, she does it well. VTV Ganesh's comedy is okay.
With more dialogues and needless twists, the movie loses steam as it progresses.
