After witnessing troubles, Thambi Vettothi Sundaram finally made it to theatres. It faced opposition from a section of people for it was supposedly a bio-pic on a gangster who lived in Tamilnadu - kerala border.
Starring Karan in the lead role and directed by Vadivudayan, the movie has Anjali and Saravanan in key roles. Sundaram (Karan) is youngster who wants to achieve big in life. Good in his academics, he wants to end up with a government job in his life. He spends all his time with his good friend Sala (Saravanan), a who is prone to illegal activities but leads a life with golden heart. Blame it on the corruption, Sundaram misses out on his dream - getting a government job.
Meanwhile, love blossoms between Sundaram and a college girl Lourd Mary (Anjali), whose father is a gangsters. Turn of events leaves Sundaram to get invlved in liquor trade and his life changes.
His plans to get married with his lover gets spoiled. What happens then in his life forms the climax. Karan's matured performance. he is a pillar to the script. He is there all through giving strength. Watch out for Anjali. It's another good show from her. Saravanan's adds pep to the proceedings.
However at places it becomes too melodramatic and cliched.
