Hope you did not forget the film Malayur Mammattiyan starring Thiagarajan in the lead which released in 1983 that turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Now this film is being remade by the hero himself with the title Mambattiyan casting his son, famous actor Prashanth as the titular character. Mambattiyan is an action packed entertainer which has shaped up well under the direction of Thiagarajan. It is said to be a bilingual (tamil and telugu) and its tamil version is scheduled to be released on 16th, december.
The remaining cast of this film is as follows. Meera Jasmine plays the lady love of Prashanth. Mumaithkhan dons the role of Jayamalini. National award winning actor Prakash Raj plays a very vital role. Comedian Vadivelu provides the necessary humour content. This movie also stars Kotta Srinivasa Rao, Vijaykumar, Riyaz khan, Kalai Rani, Mano Bala, Raghav among others.
Coming to the technical part of the movie, Shaji Kumar handles the camera with editing done by Don Max. Prashanth himself is the VFX director. Rocky Rajesh and Supreme Sundar together take care of the stunts. Music for this movie has been composed by Thaman.
Its music album has a total of seven peppy numbers which are already being talked among the masses. Two famous songs penned by kaviperarasu Vairamuthu that go as “kattu vazhi pora ponnae” and “china ponnu selai” have been again used. “Kattu vazhi pora ponnae” sung by the legend Ilayaraja in the original version has now been sung by Thiagarajan and is kept as the title song. Its remixed version is sung by young super star STR (Silambarasan) which is already a chartbuster. The rest of the songs are penned by Na.Muthukumar and Annamalai.
