Director cum actor Cheran, known for poignant movies, is getting ready. In Pokkisham he had taken the subject of love and packaged it differently.
The background of the film is 1970s and the backdrop is Kolkatta and Nagoor. Art The story revolves around two main characters and their love for each other. Cheran had acted as a Marine Engineer stationed at Calcutta where he meets his lady love. Their love start as pure Platonic and matures into real love. The cultural and other differences between their backgrounds play spoil sport. The story tells you whether they were able to break the barriers and succeed.
Director Vaira Balan had a tough time creating both North and South Indian cities of the same period. Sabesh – Murali duo scores the music for this film in which there are seven songs.
The producer of this film Idhesh Jabhak is very much excited about this period film because this film is drastically different from his previous films. So far he had invested in action oriented and mass based films like ‘Naan Avan illai’, ‘Anjathey’, and ‘Pandi’. But now he had teamed up with serious film maker Cheran and wanted to try something new and worthwhile. Let us hope that his film turn out to be a ‘treasurable’ memory for him.
