After the likes of Dr Rajasekhar and Dr Srinivasan, one more medical practitioner is turning into an actor. P Saravanan, a popular doctor in Madurai, plays the lead in Akilan. Directed by S I Henry Joseph, the movie is produced by Saravanan himself.
Ganesh Raghavendra has scored the music Vidya, Raj Kapoor, Sampathram, Mayil Samy, Singam Puli, Ganja Karuppu, Manobala, Amrith and Leema are also in the cast.
Speaking about the film, Saravanan says, 'Akilan is the story of an upright police officer, who is de-motivated by his superiors, and how he takes on the lead when a kidnap-drama takes place. His work inspires confidence.
The film has been shot in and around Madurai.'Henry Joseph, who worked as associate to directors including Subramaniam Siva, S S Stanley and Moorthy, says, 'When I wanted to do a full-fledged feature film, I approached Saravanan. After listening to the storyline, he asked me to start work immediately.
I am sure the film with around 13 comedians in it will have the audience in splits'.
