The two-day FICCI Media and Entertainment conclave that kicked off in Chennai witnessed honouring of legends of Indian cinema K Balachander, Girish Karnad, Ramanaidu, Jayanthi, Sukumari, Chemeen fame Sheela and Madhu as part of the centenary celebrations of the Indian cinema.
The conclave chaired by Kamal haasan will discused various issues about the industry and give its recomendations to the Union government to make Cinema an organised sector. Among those who took part in the celebrations include As part of the cenetenary celebrations of the Indian cinema, the event to honour the luminaries were organised. Who's who of films including Gouthami, directors Ameer, Lingusamy, Proyadharshan, Dharani were present on the occasion.
Earlier inaugurating the conclave, Kamal Haasan said, 'Indian Cinema resides in South and it has a found a place of pride in the country'. Speaking on the occasion Oscar winning director and producer, Hollywood Barrie Osborne of Lord of the Rings fame said, 'the conclave is an opportunity to enrich our cultures by learning the art of film making from each other and to keep up the passion of film making by working together'.
