All roads in Chennai lead to Jawaharlal nehru Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday where legendary music composer Viswanathan and Ramamurthy were felicitated by Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
A grand function was organised by Jaya TV in which Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa presided over and heaped laurels on the musical duo., 'Music composer MSV may say that he is content with the accolades given by the people; but a time will come when the awards will be given when I tell (recommend). That day, I will ensure they get Padma awards,' said Jayalallithaa.
The Chief Minister heaped praises on the musical duo, who ruled the Tamil film world with their evergreen tunes. The event witnessed the participation of popular film stars including Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan besides veteran producer A V M Saravanan, filmmaker K Balachander and music legend Ilayaraja.
Viswanathan, who together with Ramamurthy had scored music for over 700 films and is active in the field for over 50 years.
