Arya will play the title role in Samrajyam 2 - Son Of Alexander, a sequel to Mammootty’s blockbuster film Samrajyam in Malayalam. Guess who directs the film? Perarasu who made Tamil commercials like Thiruppachi, Sivakasi, Thiruppathy and Pazhani, is wielding the megaphone.
Samrajyam which hit the theatres 21 years ago, revolved around underworld with Mammootty playing the legendary don Alexander. The sequel starts where the first part ends. According to industry insiders either Trisha or Asin will play the female lead.
The film being produced by Ajmal Hassan and Baiju Adityan is expected to be one of the most expensive films ever made in Malayalam. Prakash Raj, Arjun, Manoj K Jayan, Biju Menon and Supra Venjarammoodu are also part of the cast. The film is slated for a Christmas release.
