A temple for Shirdi Sai Baba has been constructed at Valasaravakkam. The temple consecration took place on Thursday with vedic scholars chanting prayers. The temple located at West Kamakoti Nagar at Valasaravakkam was built by popular film producer A M Rathnam.
The temple houses an nine-feet idol of Sai Baba, perhaps the tallest statue in Chennai. Priests were flown from Shirdi for the festive occasion.
Says Rathnam, 'The temple was my dream. I am a devotee of Sai Baba. All rituals will be performed as being done at Shirdi Sai temple daily,' he said. Actor Ajith was at the temple during the consecration and offered special prayers.
