The members of Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) took a day-long hunger strike in Chennai demanding that the Tamil Film Producers’ Council to implement the revised wages for its members.
The fast was attended by prominent FEFSI members, including all-India president Darmesh Tiwari, secretary Aparna Gatta, Vijayan, Siva, and Ramabhadran. Popular directors Ameer, Lenin and Stanley also participated. The fast was also attended by members of the Kerala, Telugu and Karnataka film employees’ federation.
The Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TNFPC) has been at loggerheads with FEFSI over workers’ wages for a few weeks. FEFSI too has sought CM's intrevention over the issue.
