The Tamilnadu government presented a sum of Rs 25 lakh towards expenses of the ninth edition of Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), scheduled to begin later today and cointinue till 22 December.
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa presented a cheque for the amount to Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation director Thangaraj at the Secretariat yesterday. Speaking about the CIFF, Thangaraj said the event is being organised with co-operation of Tamil film fraternity and said he is thankful to all including Suhasini and Sarath Kumar.
The festival will showcase 154 films from 45 countries. Giving details about the event, Sarath Kumar said, 'Watching these films would be like a workshop for actors. They can learn from other actors and directors.'
