Come 16 December, actor Prashanth's Mambattiyan will be hitting the screen. After Ponnar Shankar, a perid filmpened by former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, comes Mambattiyan.
Mambattiyan is a remake of yesteryear hit that featured Prashanth's father Thyagarajan in the lead role. For the first time a father is directing his son for a remake of his yesteryear hit.
Meera Jasmine is the heroine while Prakashraj is also in the cast. Thaman has scored music.
Prashanth says, 'Mambattiyan is a cult film that brought stardom to my father. Hopefully it would do the same for me. All credit should go to Thyagarajan for making a movie using state-of-the-art technology'.
