Annakodiyum Kodiveeranaum witnessed directors, producers. cinematographers among others gathered in large numbers to heap laurels on Bharathiraja.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharathiraja recalled his nostaligic days in the village and his association with the likes of Ilayaraja.

He announced on the occasion the inauguration of an educational trust in the name of Bharathiraja - Vairamuthu.

The aim of the trust to educate the poor and needy. Bharathiraja added, 'the trust will provide all assistance to the needy.'

Both Bharathiraja and Vairamuthu donated Rs 5 lakh each.
