After sp[ending more than 70 days in prison, Sun Pictures chief operating officer W Hansraj Saxena walked out of prison on Wednesday.
He was arrested in July on charges of cheating and intimidating film producers and distributors. Ten criminal cases were filed against him, of which six were quashed by the Madras high court. He has been granted bail in the remaining cases.
Four more criminal complaints, including one filed by actor Ranjitha, are pending against him. The police are yet to register FIR in these cases. Saxena’s counsel N Senthil Kumar said anticipatory bail petitions had been filed in all four cases.
Saxena’s last bail was granted by metropolitan magistrate XI MP Ram in the Nithyananda case. As per one of the conditions for bail, he was to stay put at Madurai and sign at the Tallakullam police station daily. His co-accused, R Ayyappan, is yet to be released from jail as his bail petition in the Nithyananda case has been dismissed.
