The general council meeting of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA)was convened in Chennai on Sunday presided over by the Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar.
On the vexatious wage revision issue raised by FEFSI members which has led to a crisis in the Tamil film industry, threatening to stall shootings, the Nadigar Sangam resolved to urge the bodies concerned including Tamil Film Producers Council and South India Film Chamber to hold talks and arrive at an amicable solution.
The meeting also congratulated J Jayalalithaa for assuming the office of Chief Minister for the third time. The meeting presided over by Tenkasi MLA and president of the SIFAA
One another resolution urged actors and actresses, who are still to enroll themselves with the Nadigar Sangam to do it at the earliest or face the consequences. The meeting urged them to become members of the Nadigar Sangam by 31 October.Among those who took part in the meeting included Radharavi, Vijayakumar, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Kuyili and Sathiyapriya.
