The Madras high court on Monday refused anticipatory bail to the jailed Sun Pictures former chief executive, Hansraj Saxena, in a case relating to the telecast of visuals of Swami Nityananda in the company of an actor.
The bail application was was dismissed by Justice T Mathivanan. Nithya Atmaprabhananda, Manager of the Trust, had preferred a complaint against nine persons, including Saxena for offences including wrongful restraint and confinement, robbery and criminal intimidation.
The case which was earlier handled by the city police was transferred to the CB CID for further investigation
Justice T Mathivanan dismissed Saxena's bail petition after Nithya Atha Prabhananda, manager of Nityananda's Bangalore-based Gyana Peeta Charitable Trust, filed an intervening petition opposing bail to Saxena.
The case relates to a complaint that Saxena and others including Nakheeran magazine editor R R Gopal and associate editor A Kamaraj had allegedly demanded a huge sum from Nityananda for desisting from telecasting the visuals.
