Urumi, the bumper hit in Mayalayam, is all set to speak in Tamil. Directed by Santosh Sivan, written by Shankar Ramakrishnan and produced by Prithviraj, Shaji Natesan and Santosh Sivan, the Tamil version will release soon.
The story of the film, which stars Prithviraj, Prabhu Deva, Genelia and Vidya Balan in the lead, is set in the 15th century. It tells how Vasco Da Gama first came to the Indian shores and tried to ruthlessly exploit the locals, who fought for their rights.
The movie won laurels for both Prithiviraj and Genelia. Aarya had played a cameo in the film.
