The media was full of reports some time back that Gautham Vasudev Menon would direct Ajith for a film titled Thuppariyum Anand. However, there were no developments on this front and the buzz faded away fast.
Now we learn from sources that Gautham would start the project with Vijay playing the lead role. 'It would go on floors in 2012 since the actor and the director has commitments to complete,' sources say.
Vijay is currently busy with Velayudham and Nanban, and will soon work with A R Murugadoss and Seeman. While Gautham, who is currently remaking Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya in Hindi, will soon start his Tamil project, which would have Jiiva in the lead role.
'It is a long time plan of both Vijay and Gautham to work together. However, things did not materialise due to various reasons till now,' add sources.
