Chief operating officer of Sun Pictures Hansraj Saxena requested the Saidapet Magistrate to save him from the police as they were ‘torturing’ him to spill the beans against his boss and Sun Group chairman and managing director Kalanithi Maran.
In his letter to the Judge, Saxena said the police were not even providing him pillows to sleep properly. ‘They allow me to sleep only around 3 am and wake me up at 4 am,’ he said in the letter, adding that his life was under threat.
He also denied reports appeared in a section of the media which claimed that Saxena has given his interrogators details of several controversial transactions, but maintained that he was only an employee carrying out orders of his bosses.
‘He gave some information about many business transactions. He said he was but an employee who was doing his duty as directed by his superiors. He said he had no independent role to play,’ police sources were quoted as saying. On Wednesday, he was produced before the court and was taken to police custoday in a fresh case.
