Kanchivaram girl Shammu stood under the sun for several hours, learnt martial arts of ancient Tamils, acquired the art of climbing trees and performed some rusky stunts, all for her forthcoming Tamil film, Paalai.
‘Director Senthamizhan is a real task master and he extracted nothing but the best from everyone of us. Though it was initially difficult, I slowly used to it and I am so happy to see the output,’ says Shammu.
Throwing more light on her role in the movie, she says, ‘Paalai is a period film which is about ancient Tamils and their lifestyle. Senthamizhan has done intense research and the impact was there on screen.’
Saying that she is ready for more such performance-oriented roles, Shammu says, ‘I strongly believe that skin show alone doesn’t work big time. At the same time, I am ready for a limited dose of glamour.’
