Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Friday visited the Sivakumars at their residence in Chennai and greeted the newly married couple Karthi and Ranjini. She was accorded a warm reception by the actors’ family.
Karthi and Ranjini, who entered wedlock Sunday last in Coimbatore, hosted a grand reception in Chennai on Monday. However, the Chief Minister was unable to attend the event, following which she personally visited the couple on Friday.
Late last month, elders in Karthi's family, including father Sivakumar, mother Lakshmi, brother Suriya and sister-in-law Jyothika, called on Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat in Chennai and invited her to the young actor’s wedding.
The Chief Minister happily accepted the invitation from the Sivakumars and interacted with them for sometime. She expressed the same warmth and affection when she visited Sivakumar’s house on Friday, sources say.
